The North Channel is a 22 mile stretch of very cold water (53-55 degrees) between Northern Ireland and Scotland. On September 2nd 2014, Kimberley became the 26th person ever and 1st New Zealander to complete this swim.
This swim took Kimberley 13 hours 6 minutes during which she endured hundreds of stings from Lions Mane jellyfish, resulting in two major hospitalizations in Northern Ireland and in the United States upon her return to San Francisco.
The North Channel was the 7th and last Oceans Seven swim for Kimberley. She is the 3rd woman and 6th person ever to complete this challenge, and proudly the 1st New Zealander.
